Sheer curtains soften incoming daylight while keeping a light, translucent appearance at the window. They suit living rooms, dining areas and bedrooms where you want filtered daylight rather than a blackout finish. Buy sheer curtains online by selecting your colour, heading and measurements above.
Daytime and night-time privacy
Sheer fabric can provide some screening when it is brighter outside than inside, but privacy depends on the light, fabric colour, distance and viewing angle. It is not guaranteed. At night, an illuminated room may be visible through a sheer curtain from outside.
If you need privacy after dark, use a separate heavier curtain or an appropriate blind. Sheers alone are not a blackout covering, and the translucent fabric should not be described as providing complete privacy.
Layer sheer and blackout curtains
A separate sheer layer lets you filter daylight while opening the heavier curtain. Close the heavier layer when you want stronger light control or privacy. Suitable separate tracks or rods let the two layers operate independently.

Unlined sheers or added lining?
Select Not Required if you want the sheer fabric without an added lining. Standard or Blackout Thermal lining adds another layer to the same curtain and changes the way light passes through it. Adding lining is not the same as ordering a separate, independently opening blackout curtain.

Lining choices are Not Required, Standard and Blackout Thermal; the configurator includes your selected options in the displayed price.
Follow our curtain measuring guide before ordering. Enter the finished track or rod width and your required drop in millimetres. Do not add extra width for fabric fullness; this is allowed for according to your selected pleat style. Check the minimum and maximum sizes shown above.

Sheer curtain questions
Can people see through sheer curtains at night?
Yes, people may see into a lit room when it is darker outside. Choose a separate privacy layer if that matters for the room.
Are sheer curtains suitable for bedrooms?
They can soften daylight in a bedroom, but an unlined sheer will not darken the room for sleep. Pair with a suitable blackout curtain or blind when you need that function.
