Good Night blackout curtains for NZ homes
Good Night blackout curtains use a three-pass blockout coating on the face fabric to restrict light passing through the material. Made to measure for your track or rod, they are an option for bedrooms, living rooms and media rooms where stronger light control and privacy matter.
Blackout and blockout curtains: what is the difference?
Blackout and blockout are both commonly used to describe light-blocking curtains. They describe a function, not a fabric colour: a light-coloured curtain can have a blockout coating. Good Night is available in Beige, Brown, White, Light Grey and Dark Grey.
Light-blocking fabric, with realistic expectations
The coating blocks light through the fabric, but it cannot stop light passing around the edges of an installation. The track position, side overlap, centre meeting point and finished drop all affect how dark a room becomes. Allow for those details when measuring rather than assuming any blackout curtain guarantees total darkness.
The coated fabric can also help limit heat transfer through the window. Insulation depends on fit, lining and the room; no fixed energy-saving or temperature reduction is promised.
Good Night fabric and lining choices
- Face fabric: three-pass blockout coated.
- Composition: 100% polyester.

The blackout face fabric and the optional lining are separate layers. Choose Not Required for no added lining, Standard for a backing layer, or Blackout Thermal for an additional blackout thermal lining. The selected lining is included in your configured price.

Follow our curtain measuring guide before ordering. Enter the finished track or rod width and your required drop in millimetres. Do not add extra width for fabric fullness; this is allowed for according to your selected pleat style. Check the minimum and maximum sizes shown above.

No. Good Night curtains are custom made to your measurements. Enter the track or rod width and required drop using the measuring guide, then choose your options above.
Do blackout curtains have to be black?
No. The blockout coating provides the light-blocking function. Good Night offers five neutral face-fabric colours, including White and Beige.
Will they make my bedroom completely dark?
They restrict light through the coated material, but edge and centre gaps can still admit daylight. Plan the curtain coverage and track position carefully, particularly if you sleep during the day.
