Essential Sunscreen Roller Blinds
From $76.26 NZD — made to measure, delivered NZ-wide.
Made-to-measure sunscreen roller blinds for NZ homes
Essential sunscreen roller blinds filter sunlight and help reduce glare while allowing a view through the fabric. They suit living rooms, dining areas and home offices where you want natural light rather than a blackout finish. Each blind is made to your measurements, with colour, fitting and control options selected above.
95% UV protection and 5% fabric openness
The Essential collection provides 95% UV protection and has a 5% fabric openness factor. The open weave lets filtered daylight through while helping to reduce glare. UV protection and openness describe different properties: sunscreen fabric is not a blackout covering and does not guarantee night-time privacy.
Daytime privacy, not night-time blackout
Sunscreen fabric can help with daytime privacy when it is brighter outside than inside. Privacy depends on the lighting, fabric colour and viewing angle; it is not guaranteed in every situation. At night, an illuminated room can be visible from outside. If you need privacy after dark or a darker room for sleeping, pair sunscreen blinds with curtains or consider Elemental blackout roller blinds.
Choose your fabric colour with free samples
The Essential range has nine colours: White, Charcoal, Beige, Ivory, Silver, Grey, Light Grey, Dark Bronze and Charcoal Grey. Lighter colours give a softer, lighter appearance, while darker colours may offer a clearer view through the fabric. The result depends on the light at your window, so compare samples in the room before ordering.

Measure the complete blind width, not just the fabric. Roller blind fabric is narrower than the bracket-to-bracket measurement, so allow for side light gaps when choosing your fit. Follow the roller blind measuring guide for the correct allowances.

Frequently asked questions
Can people see through sunscreen blinds at night?
Yes, they may be able to see into a lit room when it is darker outside. Sunscreen blinds are not a substitute for blackout blinds or curtains when night-time privacy is required.
What does 5% fabric openness mean?
The Essential fabric has a 5% openness factor, meaning approximately 5% of the woven fabric consists of open spaces. This allows filtered natural light and a view through the blind. The collection also provides 95% UV protection; this is a separate performance measure, not a promise to block 95% of visible light or heat.
How do I clean these blinds?
Remove loose dust gently with a soft brush. For marks, use a damp cloth without harsh cleaners or abrasive scrubbing. Let the fabric dry before rolling the blind up.
How much will my blind cost?
Enter your width and drop and choose your options in the configurator above to see your product price. Delivery and any applicable delivery surcharges are calculated separately in your cart.
