Budget Honeycomb Blinds — affordable cellular blinds, made to measure
Furnishing one room or working through several windows? Budget Honeycomb Blinds offer a straightforward way to choose made-to-measure cellular blinds while keeping your spending in mind. This model pairs your choice of Blackout or Light Filter honeycomb fabric with cord-lock operation and a choice of fabric and rail colours.
Each blind is made to your selected dimensions rather than a standard ready-made size. Enter your measurements in the configurator to see the price for your window before adding it to your cart.
What makes this a budget-friendly honeycomb option?
This range focuses on the essentials: cellular fabric, a simple cord-lock mechanism and separate colour choices for the fabric and rails. It has no perimeter frame. If your priority is a made-to-measure honeycomb blind with straightforward manual operation, this is the entry-level option in our honeycomb blinds collection.
The cellular structure forms pockets of air between the fabric layers, helping add an insulating layer at the window. Actual room comfort depends on the window, fitting and other insulation in your home.
How the cord-lock control works
The operating cord raises and lowers the blind, and the cord lock holds it at your chosen height. Select the left or right control side to suit access around your window, furniture and curtains. This model uses a cord lock, not a chain mechanism.
Think about where you will stand to operate the blind, especially behind a sofa or beside a bed. Operating cords must be secured out of children's reach. Keep beds, cots and climbable furniture away from cords, and check the safety requirements before fitting.
Choose Blackout or Light Filter fabric
Choose Light Filter if you want softer, diffused daylight while the blind is lowered. This is useful in living spaces where you want to reduce the brightness of direct light without choosing blackout fabric.
Choose Blackout when blocking light through the fabric is the priority, such as in a bedroom. Blackout describes the fabric's light-blocking function; it does not mean every installation will make the whole room completely dark. Some light may remain visible around the edges, depending on the fit. With either fabric, you can raise the blind to let in daylight and enjoy your view.
Looking for more complete blackout? Upgrade to our Full Frame Honeycomb Blinds, with a fully enclosed frame designed to reduce edge light. This is worth comparing if room darkness is more important to you than choosing the lowest-cost system.
Six fabric colours and four rail finishes
Choose Polar, Mist, Graphite, Carbon, Urban Sand or Camel. These are the same fabric colour choices offered in our Skylight collection. Use the swatches above to compare them, bearing in mind that screen settings and room lighting can change how a colour appears.
The rails are available in Beige, White, Grey or Black. A rail colour close to your window joinery can help it blend in, while a contrasting finish makes the blind more noticeable. Fabric colour and rail colour are separate choices, so check both before ordering.
Choosing your fitting and checking measurements
Decide whether you want the blind inside the window recess or fitted outside the opening before entering dimensions. An inside fit sits within the recess; an outside fit covers the opening from the surrounding surface. The suitable choice depends on available mounting space and the finish you want.
- Measure with a metal tape and enter both width and drop in millimetres.
- Check each window individually, even if neighbouring windows appear the same size.
- Look for handles, locks and other obstructions that could affect the blind's movement.
- Check the width and drop limits displayed in this product's configurator.
- Confirm the fitting type, Blackout or Light Filter fabric, fabric colour, rail colour and control side before adding the blind to your cart.
Our general window measuring guide is a useful starting point. If you are unsure which dimensions to enter or whether your opening suits this system, email contact@bestblinds.co.nz with your measurements and a window photo before placing your order. Ask us for this model's fitting instructions rather than using a guide for a different honeycomb mechanism.
