Made-to-measure magnetic screens for windows
Magnetic Mosquito Screens help keep insects outside while allowing fresh air to circulate. The flexible PVC frame and magnetic strips offer a no-drill fitting option for suitable window frames. Choose White, Slate, Beige, Cream or Light Grey to suit your window surrounds.
Check your window before ordering
Start with our Magnetic Screen Window Measuring Guide (PDF). It explains suitable window openings, handle and lock clearance, and the space needed for the screen frame. The guide states that inward-opening window panels are not suitable for this product.
Check for a clear fixing surface around the opening and any handles that protrude. If you are unsure, email contact@bestblinds.co.nz with photos of the window and the handle clearance before placing your order.
How magnetic screens fit around window latches
The magnetic strip fixed to the window frame can be cut with a pair of scissors to fit snugly around the latches. Trim only the window-mounted magnetic strip to suit the latch shape, as shown below—not the screen mesh or the screen frame.
When the window is closed, the screen itself rests on the window handle. The second image shows the handle behind the mesh with the screen in place. Check the handle clearance before ordering; if your handles project significantly or you are unsure about the fit, send us a photo at contact@bestblinds.co.nz.
Use the correct measuring method
The PDF covers two different methods: measuring the outer frame, or measuring the aperture and allowing space for the screen frame. Follow the method that matches your window; do not apply the same additions to both methods. Screens are made to the exact size you provide, so use a metal tape measure and check each window separately.
