Measure Guide

Measuring for your new blinds is really simple and straightforward.

We recommend that you use a steel tape measure for accuracy (cloth ones tend to stretch) and have a pencil and paper handy. Remember that the only real difference between a recess or an exact fitting is that if you specify recess fitting we will make the appropriate adjustments to the sizes to ensure a perfect fit.

For Magnetic screens, please visit the Magnetic screen page and you will find instructions under the Measuring Guide Tab

MEASURING GUIDE

MEASURING GUIDE FROM AN INSIDE RECESS FITTING

This measurement is used when your blind is to be fitted inside the window recess; you haven't got to make any adjustments as we will then make your blind so it fits perfectly into the window.

First ensure that the recess your blind is going into is not obstructed in any way so the blind can hang freely when fully extended. Look out for protruding window handles and tiles.
Measure the width from A to B and the drop from C to D (see diagram to the right). We recommend you do this in several places to allow
for any slight size variation and note down the smallest measurements to the nearest millimetre.

We will make your blind to fit into the recess perfectly. There is no need for you to make any adjustments.

MEASURING GUIDE FOR AN OUTSIDE (EXACT) FITTING

This term is used when you want your blind to be fitted on the outside of your window recess, your blind will then be made exactly to these measurements.

Decide how much you want to overlap the blind on all sides - we recommend this should be at least 50mm each side in most instances.
Carefully measure the width from E to F (see the diagram to your Left) and the drop from G to H and note down the smallest measurements to the nearest millimetre.

Remember on roller blinds the fabric will be approximately 3.5cm less than the overall width so you must allow for this.

We will make your blind to your exact sizes. If you are measuring an existing blind that's fine but don't get caught out with roller blinds. On a roller blind the fabric is always approximately 35mm less than the "true" blind size (the blind size being bracket to bracket).
Please don't just measure the fabric on a roller blind, you will end up with a blind too narrow!

PLEASE VISIT THE MAGNETIC SCREENS MENU FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MEASURE MAGNETIC SCREENS.
